Roger Mussa: Prospect Reilly Walsh signed ELC

This is so much better than the alternative of letting him walk for nothing. Lets see what he can do in the Ahl.

I don't think Walsh is expected to be as good as Adam Fox but hopefully he can play some solid D. We can certainly use the help on the blue line.

Great news! It is great that the Devils managed to sing Reilly Walsh to a 3-year ELC; especially since there was the risk of losing him to free agency in 2021. Now, it is going to be fun to see Ty Smith, Kevin Bahl, Nikita Okhotiuk, Michael Vukojevic, and Reilly Walsh when the Devils open camp. It would be great if two of these defensemen make the NHL roster for next season.

Id like to see two of them, but reality is that Smith may cack and we can find a stop gap via free agency.

Hockey just might be my favorite break from life's stressors. So I'm posting lines again. I wonder how many time's I've done this over the years.

So for next season, what do we realistically think? Man alive our D is SO bad lol. I mean that.. is terrible.
I think Caps re-sign Dillon and we end up with Gudas. We're not getting a top guy, though I'd still take Pietrangelo and not shed a tear. I'd love Tanev, but I can't see Vancouver parting with him. We HAVE to sign someone, right? Brodie? Kulikov? Edmundson? Tanev and Pietrangelo are the only right shots listed there. Vatanen is a righty, but I think we need more than Vats, as in someone just as good positionally, but with more size/toughness.

Maybe we draft Sanderson.. and the left side is somehow a mix of Sanderson, Smith and Butcher. Poor kids.. and on their right.. Severson, Subban and Carrick. My gosh. Severson seems to be ready to be the veteran, and PK, while slowing down, is still a solid guy leadership-wise. Maybe they draft Sanderson AND sign a UFA to add another player over 28 that doesn't stink.

in 22-23, PK and Carrick will be gone, Butcher a UFA, our D prospects will have 2 full year of AHL development + some call-ups to the NHL. Our precious Smith and potentially Sanderson will have 1-2 NHL seasons under their belts, and we could have a confident top 4.

i couldn't believe when i saw that blue logo fly to the top. unreal. I don't think even the Rags will screw this up. Laf is everything you could possibly dream of in a winger. All the skills, all the competitiveness, all the leadership. .. on their team for the next 2 decades.

What a joke, saw this coming when they dropped the ball in the machine before it was confirmed. This was just as bad as when the NBA rigged the lottery to dumped patrick ewing with the knicks. The rangers knew this was coming the way they TANKED the non played round against carolina. I guess tanking really does pay off?

The perfect end to this devils summer of what might have been is we waste the seventh pick on lucas raymond, also known as matthis tedenby 2.0!!

this offseason went from.. 6th + maybe 9th, to 7th + 18thish, and Rags get Crosby on their LW for the next 15 years. woo.

I didn't mind Rags (or us) getting 2nd overall last year. The Hughes/Kakko debate/"rivalry"... it would be fun for NY sports. Now it's just the Rags spitting on us. Hopefully we can RISE UP and as a team/Columbus-esqu, put up a fight year after year.
Right now, they have the better goalies, the better young D, the superior group of forwards.

I stay true to my lack of emotion. But really I called out how stupid the format was when they first announced it and got kicked in the nuts at every step. Can't wait for an Arizona-Vancouver WCF.
